Jennifer M. Daniels, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Jennifer Daniels joined SAS Surgery & Vein Specialists in 2004. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Daniels earned her B.S. in Pre-medicine at the University of Dayton. She continued her education at The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine receiving her medical degree in 1999. During that time she did clinical research in Pediatric and Vascular surgery. She completed her internship and residency at The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati. During her residency she did clinical research in pancreatic and esophageal cancers. She was awarded the Sidney Peerless Teaching Award during her residency distinguishing her abilities to educate medical students.
Dr. Daniels currently maintains an active practice at Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) and Springfield Regional Medical Center. Dr. Daniels is board certified by the American Board of Surgeons. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), Clark County Medical Society (CCMS), Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS).
Dr. Daniels is the chairperson of the Cancer Committee, a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Ohio Valley Medical Center, the Medical Peer Review Committee of Springfield Regional Medical Center, and Community Hospital Foundation Medical Advisory Committee. Dr. Daniels practices general, endocrine, breast surgery and advanced laparoscopic procedures. She has an interest in disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and breast disease. She performs sentinel lymph node mapping and removal in the treatment of melanoma and breast cancers as well as partial breast irradiation balloon catheter insertion to decrease radiation treatment time for breast cancer.
Dr. Daniels was the first general surgeon in Springfield to perform robotic surgery using the daVinci Robotic System. She also performs advanced laparoscopic procedures including laparoscopic colon resections and hernia repair. Dr. Daniels also performs minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins and venous reflux in the office, including the Venefit™ Closure procedure.
Dr. Daniels is proud to be a member of SAS Surgery & Vein Specialists and looks forward to many years of treating patients in the Springfield community. Dr. Daniels resides in Springfield with her husband Jene and their 2 sons.
